The Department of Recreation within our Faculty was established during the 2012-2013 academic year and commenced student admissions as of the 2013-2014 academic year. The primary objective of the Department of Recreation is to cultivate a qualified workforce capable of developing and managing leisure and recreation services centered on physical exercise and sports, and delivering these services to individuals and groups exhibiting diverse demographic characteristics. In addition, the department aims to produce scholars who can serve as planners, programmers, monitors, and leaders for individuals seeking to satisfy their psychological, social, and intellectual expectations, while contributing to the field by researching dynamic relationships related to recreational participation.
The Department of Recreation features an educational curriculum that enhances its field of study by integrating multiple scientific and applied disciplines over a four-year period. Students who successfully complete the departmental courses will attain "Specialist" status in their chosen scientific branch (e.g., "Nature and Adventure Recreation Specialist" or "Recreation and Fitness Management Specialist"). A priority objective is the certification of students in relation to the practical courses they complete by the time of graduation. To provide evidence of the qualifications they hold at the start of their careers, collaborations are conducted with the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, TURSAB, sports federations, professional chambers, and international certification programs.
